The Bonnesdorf Fortified Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Bonnesdorf (Boian) in Transylvania .

The first church was built around 1400. Because of the threat from the Turks, the church was rebuilt at the beginning of the 16th century and turned into a fortified church with fortifications. A defense tower with machicolations was built over the raised choir . The church was provided with a six meter high curtain wall . The gate tower in front with a wooden battlement is also a bell tower. Above the entrance to the church there is the coat of arms of the Principality of Moldavia , according to tradition it was attached because of the victorious alliance with Prince Petru Rareș . Another interpretation relates to Stefan the Great .

The current equipment of the church consists of a baroque altar, pulpit and stalls. Until the end of the 19th century, the residents of the village made traditional carpets on special occasions, which were placed in the church.

The church is in need of renovation, there are no services, but it can be visited on request.
