The historic house at Kirchstrasse 18 in Bergheim

The historic house at Kirchstrasse No. 18 , which was formerly used as a notary's office and practice, is a listed building and is located in the city center of the district town of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The architecturally attractive building at Kirchstrasse No. 18 is a real eye-catcher. The house from the Wilhelminian era was built in 1877, as can be seen from the anchor numbers on its back. It served as a notary's office for several decades. In 1907 the royal notary Bernhard Mausbach worked here and in 1934 the notary Dr. Christian Brink. After the Second World War, the house was used as an X-ray practice. At the end of the 20th century it threatened to deteriorate completely. Fortunately, the decision was made not to demolish the house despite its poor condition, but to renovate it.

architecture

Four axes of arched windows and a gable triangle structure the facade. The building has a very beautiful door leaf with a gabled entrance. The property has a flat extension with a roof terrace facing Commerstrasse. This extension has large, arched windows with lintel frames in relief and wedge-shaped stones. The high-quality historical interior has been preserved.

Todays use

After the extensive and successful restoration, the house now enriches the streetscape of the city center as an attractive residential building in which a dental practice is housed.
