The term small computer is

  • The term was used out of date - in contrast to mainframes - for a computer in professional use that "only" filled a cupboard instead of a floor and was therefore affordable for medium-sized companies, e.g. B. Computer of the performance class PDP or VAX (also small computers or minicomputers ).
