Clamping unit
Clamping units are used in all technical areas to securely fix objects, components, workpieces or examinations.
history
The earliest clamping units can be found in watchmaking in the 16th century, when it became necessary to fix the smallest components with an accuracy of <0.1 mm.
function
A clamping unit can have the following states:
- Released state: The object is freely movable and can be moved into the desired position.
- Safe state: The object is fixed and can be edited.
Areas of application
shipping
In shipping, clamping units are used to securely close the stern and bow flaps of ferries.
aviation
In aviation, clamping units are mainly used in flight simulators to create the most realistic conditions possible. For example, different environmental conditions can be simulated more authentically in order to test and evaluate prospective pilots in terms of their physical and mental resilience as best as possible.
Train ride
Pneumatic clamping units are also used for maintenance work on trains, which means that their position remains unchanged until the maintenance or repairs have been completed.
medicine
In operations, in therapy and in pathology.
