Klong Puje

The Klong Puje ( Thai : กลอง ปู เจ๋ , pronounced: [ kloŋ puːt͡ɕěː ]) is a long, narrow drum that is played in northern Thailand .

The rear part of the drum is mostly attractively carved into rings. The sound body is made of soft wood to minimize weight. A shoulder girdle is also attached so that the player can play the drum by hand during processions .

The Klong Puje is used in ensembles during religious events.
