Weihenberg Monastery

The monastery consecration Berg is a former convent of the Augustinian Canons women in Wertingen in Bavaria in the diocese of Augsburg .

history

The SS. Cosmas and Damian , last monastery only consecrated to St. Veit, was founded in 1145 by Wilhelm and Arnold von Biberbach. In 1410 a last nun is mentioned in a document. In 1448 the empty monastery was handed over to the hospital in Dillingen, which remained in the possession of the monastery property until 1803. The church was demolished in 1809, the monastery had disappeared before that.
