An order picking , also English pick Cart or Picking Cart called, is usually a bunk car, which in warehouses for transporting picked is used goods. Picking trolleys are usually pulled or pushed manually to the respective picking compartments or pallet locations, for heavy loads there are also electrically driven trolleys.

Equipment features of a picking trolley are occasionally a foldable ladder for reaching goods in higher shelves, note holders for pick lists or a clothes rail for hanging goods . A monitor, radio scanner and printer can also be connected via a rechargeable battery.

Areas of application

The order picking trolleys are mainly used in the intralogistics of online and mail order retail, but also for the provision of work equipment in production and assembly companies.

Pick-by-light system

Picking trolleys can be integrated into a pick-by-light system for a route-optimized journey through the warehouse . For this purpose, the cars are equipped with a battery for the mobile power supply of the WLAN connection and put-to-light compartment displays.

Pick-and-pack process

With order picking trolleys for the pick-and-pack process, the trolleys are tailored to the size of the shipping boxes. The shipping boxes are transported directly to the articles. The picked items are then packed into the shipping box with the delivery note on site and taken to the shipping department. Subsequent repacking is not necessary.
