meaning

Like the promotion tests , the control work served as a mechanism to establish and guarantee the achievement principle as far as possible in the unit school. The manageability, the didactic planning and the fulfillment of the curricula could be checked. Observations about the professional level of school and pupils became possible, as well as conclusions about the wealth of material, the methodology and the interaction of the various levels of the democratic unified school. The guidelines for assessing the exams were appended by the Ministry of Popular Education with a list of questions that each teacher involved should answer openly and honestly, in order to bring uncertainties in practice to the Ministry so that future improvements in curricula and teaching can be achieved could. The statistical evaluation of the control work was carried out comprehensively and provided extensive, reliable, detailed information about the school system and its structures. Later these valuable experiences flowed into the progress of the unit school. For example, the great reform of 1959, including the curriculum of the polytechnic high school , is based to a large extent on the database that the long-term performance evaluations in the form of control work and promotion tests provided.
