Goromo

Koromo ( , "clothing") is the name for a special color variant of the Japanese ornamental carp ( Koi ).

This form is characterized by a black shade in the white primed color pattern. Depending on the basic color of the color sample, one differentiates:

  • Ai-goromo ( 藍衣 "Indigo clothing") - black shaded red spots on a white background
  • Budō-goromo ( 葡萄 衣 "vine clothing") - black shaded and therefore brown-looking yellow spots on a white background
  • Sumi-goromo ( 墨 衣 "Tush clothing") - black cover over a red pattern, white background
  • Doitsu Ai-gomoro - only the scales on the back are shaded black
