Symptoms and Biology
The disease is widespread worldwide and is particularly dangerous in the case of mixed infections with the X virus . The reactions can be very different depending on the variety: from the complete absence of symptoms to a slight mosaic spotting with strong curling of the leaf edges. This virus is transmitted mechanically and through vectors, primarily through the green peach aphid and the black bean aphid . The virus overwinters in the tuber and is not persistent in the vector .
Combat
The control is carried out using healthy plant material and systemic insecticides with contact action are used to control the vectors.
