Crutch ski

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Crutch skis (engl. Outriggers), also Stabilos mentioned are special crutches that are equipped with small skis at the lower end. The short skis are attached to the crutches with a joint, which means they can be adapted to the slope of the terrain. Crutch skis are used by unilateral leg amputees for crutch skiing or wheelchair users for monoskiing . The crutch skis are used for leg amputees on one side to stabilize them during alpine skiing and to move about as a crutch outside the slopes.
