Crane support plate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When setting up cranes or other devices in building construction, civil engineering, road, rail and hydraulic engineering, crane support plates are used when the ground is poor . When using construction machines or cranes, incorrect or insufficient support of the machines is the most common cause of accidents. If the ground is too soft or too sensitive (e.g. on lawns in stadiums) so that the outriggers of the crane cannot be placed directly on, these plates are used. The crane support plates ensure more safety, as the point loads of the crane supports are distributed over a larger area and thus ensure lower ground pressure. This protects the subsoil and reduces soil compaction. Crane support plates are primarily made of plastic or steel.

plastic steel
  • handy and light
  • statically calculated exactly
  • very inexpensive
  • low dead weight
  • stable
  • extremely resilient
  • tough and practically unbreakable
  • can be used as a bridge
  • very long life
  • variable soil pressure
  • water repellent, no rusting, no rot
  • higher support pressure
  • shatterproof
  • lower support pressure

Many manufacturers offer standard sizes for the crane support plates. But a production according to individual specifications at the customer's request is always possible.
