Krausbäumchen
The Krausbäumchen is a natural monument in Dornholzhausen , a district of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . It is a rare Süntel beech .
The rarity of the tree had become clear since the beginning of the 20th century. The first maintenance measures were carried out by the Taunus Club as early as 1902 . On July 30, 1937, the tree was declared a natural monument. On the night of March 27-28, 1966, however, it was felled by a gust of wind. Today's Krausbäumchen is an offshoot of the tree of that time.
The Krausbäumchenschneise is named after the natural monument.
