War weapon book
The War Weapons Book is a document which, in accordance with Section 12 (2) of the War Weapons Control Act , must be kept by anyone who “ manufactures war weapons , has them transported or transports them themselves, or who acquires or transfers actual control over war weapons from someone else”. Weapons of war are those weapons that are recorded in the list of war weapons. The war weapons book is intended to provide a complete control of the whereabouts of the respective weapon.
The requirements for the keeping and the content of the War Weapons Book result from Section 9 of the Second Ordinance for the Implementation of the War Weapons Control Act. For each weapon system there is a separate sheet in the relevant war weapons book. All changes in the inventory of the respective weapon must be noted, including the origin or recipient and weapon number. The war weapons book can also be kept electronically.
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) is responsible for ensuring that the war weapons book is properly kept . The current status of the war weapons book must be reported to BAFA on March 31 and September 30 of each year. In addition, the authority carries out controls.
