Croup

As croup is called a barking cough with inspiratory stridor , the underlying according to the disease

  • either the (real) croup , a special airway obstruction in the context of diphtheria
  • or pseudocroup , an airway obstruction with similar symptoms, but without diphtheria pathogens (e.g. subglottic laryngotracheitis in measles croup or viral diseases, supraglottic laryngitis)

is assigned.
