In a narrower sense, this designation refers to the Asian ball-jointed dolls . These dolls are made from resin , a hard, durable plastic. The individual parts are connected by a thick elastic rubber band. BJDs are mainly made in Japan, South Korea and China. The ball joints give you many options to position the doll. BJD dolls come in many sizes, the three most common being:

  • SD - approx. 60 cm or in the size ratio 1/3
  • MSD - approx. 40 cm or 1/4
  • Mini or Yo´SD 30 cm to well below
