The Korneuburg cultural center

The Korneuburg cultural center is a historic building in Korneuburg , which today houses the city museum.

history

Today's cultural center was opened in 1908 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I as a municipal bath and shower at the Dr. Max Burckhard-Ring erected. The developer was the municipality of Korneuburg under Mayor Anton Schleidt.

The Tröpferlbad was initially a popular meeting place for Korneuburg residents. As a result of the improved living conditions, the bathroom lost its importance from the 1960s.

The rededication as a museum was carried out by Mayor Franz Guggenberger, the renovation took place between 1970 and 1973. In 1989 the basement was renovated and expanded into a cultural center.
