Short sentence

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In linguistics and stylistics, short clauses are used to describe two different things:

  • a syntactically incomplete sentence. In this sense, short clause is synonymous with ellipse ;
  • a sentence that is short compared to others, but syntactically complete, which therefore contains all the necessary parts of the sentence.
