The Sangyō University of Kyōto ( Japanese 京都 産業 大学 , Kyōto sangyō daigaku , dt. "Industrial University of Kyoto", short: Sandai ( 産 大 ), Kyōsan ( 京 産 ) or Kyōsandai ( 京 産 大 )) is a private university in Japan . It is located in Kita-ku , Kyōto in the Kyoto prefecture .
history
The university was founded in 1965 by the astronomer Toshima Araki ( 荒木 俊 馬 , Araki Toshima , 1897–1978) to train students who have their spiritual foundations in the Japanese tradition and who can contribute to the peace and happiness of people.
The number of faculties has increased from two (economics and natural sciences) to eight.
