L'Écho de la timbrologie is a monthly French philatelic magazine published since 1887 . This makes it the oldest French philatelic journal that still exists. Its subtitle is "La tribune des philatélistes."

history

Edmond Frémy published the first edition on November 15, 1887 in Douai . In 1890 he sold the magazine to the stamp collector Théodule Tellier, co-owner of the Yvert printing company in Amiens , where the magazine was printed. In 1895 Louis Yvert took over the editor-in-chief of the paper. His son Pierre followed him in the 1930s, his grandson Jean in 1955. Benoît Gervais took over in the 1990s; he has been the editor since 2012. The editor-in-chief has been with Sophie Bastide-Bernardin since 2012.

The publishing house and printing company Yvert et Tellier are based in Amiens, the editorial office is based in Paris. In addition to the "Timbres magazine", which has been published since 2000, "L'Écho de la timbrologie" is one of the two largest philatelic journals in France. Sold edition (1999): 15,789.

Atouts timbres

The publisher has published its sister magazine Atouts timbres since 1996, which is geared towards a younger target group.
