A laryngopharyngitis is an acute or chronic inflammation-related disease of the upper respiratory tract involving the larynx ( larynx ) and the throat ( the pharynx ). It can be caused by viruses and bacteria . Permanent external influences and irritation (such as smoking or contaminated breathing air) can also be triggers. The symptoms correspond to a combination of throat inflammation and larynx inflammation .
