Laufabrauð

Laufabrauð ( dt. About foliage bread ) is a traditional Christmas sweets in Iceland .

It originally comes from the north of Iceland, but is now eaten across the island. Thin flat cakes are made from simple dough. The special feature are the decorations by cutting and folding. The Laufabrauð is fried in simmering fat.
