Food analysis

Food analysis is an applied science for examining and assessing the quality of food and food safety .

The analytical methods include:

  • Food microbiology : testing for food germs such as bacteria, fungi and yeast
  • Food chemistry : Investigation of chemical properties such as pH value, fat content, sugar content or pesticides
  • Food preparation: study of physical properties such as caliber, composition, weight, presence of parasites
  • Food sensors : investigation of taste, smell, mouthfeel, color, appearance
