Lechatelierite

Lechatelierit is a natural fused silica ( amorphous silicon dioxide ), which in nature by the melting of silica sand at temperatures of over 1,700  ° C is formed.

Lechatelierite has been found in fulgurites (lightning tubes). In addition Lechatelierit can in tektites and Impaktgläsern happen when the impact of a large meteorite are formed.
