Leopold (price)

The Leopold Media Prize honors - so its subtitle - “Good Music for Children”.

In 1997 the LEOPOLD was launched by the Association of German Music Schools eV (VdM) with the support of the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth as a quality mark for particularly recommendable music for children on CD, MC and CD-Rom . The prize is awarded every two years.

Since 2001 the WDR with its radio wave WDR 3 has been the “cultural partner” of the VdM. Therefore, the award ceremonies usually take place in the WDR radio station in Cologne .
