Reading copy stands for:

  • Reading copies , which are sent as specially created print editions of a book publication to booksellers for viewing and as review copies to literary critics, usually before the actual book publication goes to press.
  • Trial copy, edition available for inspection and inspection, rare, sometimes very old and therefore valuable book edition on site, e.g. B. in libraries and museums.
  • Author's copy , book copy , which as a rule was verifiably in the possession of its author as a specimen copy and / or free copy and which may have been provided with underlinings and comments.
