Lexie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lexia , in contrast to the lexeme and the word , is a semantically independent unit that can be morphologically simple, composed or composed of several words.

In more modern linguistic studies of lexical semantics , lexia rather than words are used because of the more precise definition. A lexia is determined in terms of its meaning, that is, it is an integral part of the vocabulary of a speaker group. Describing the meaning of lexia is the central task of lexical semantics.
