Lightweight Imaging Device Interface Language

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lightweight Imaging Device Interface Language ( LIDIL for short ) is a printer language that is mainly used in newer HP printers. In contrast to the Printer Control Language (PCL), pure ASCII text output is no longer supported.

Since it is used almost without exception in the so-called cheap class of devices, the designation is often incorrectly translated using interface language for image processing devices in lightweight construction , probably to allude to the short expected service life of the devices.
