The Linhouse Viaduct is a railway bridge in the Scottish Unitary Authority West Lothian . In 1971 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A.
description
The masonry viaduct is about two kilometers south of the city of Livingston . It was built in 1842 to a design by Joseph Locke for the Caledonian Railway . He led their two-pronged main line over Linhouse Water to Edinburgh . Today the trains on the West Coast Main Line use the viaduct. The Linhouse Viaduct spans the Linhouse Water valley in six arches.
