↑ According to Dreyhaupt (2000) the dimensions from 1919 to 1921 were 3: 5. However, he cites no specific evidence for this. In the constitution of 1919 there is no information about the dimensions to be used.
↑ Regarding the standard of the Reich President, there are uncertainties about the exact period of its use. Dreyhaupt (2000) initially assumed that the 1921 version was reintroduced in 1928, after a standard with six feathers per wing was introduced in 1926. Official publications of the Reich Ministry of the Interior from 1928 and 1930 show versions with five springs per wing. However, Schmöger (2002) mentions a photo from 1930 that covers the presidential standard with six feathers. Another photo from 1931 shows the standard with five feathers on each wing. It must therefore be assumed that both versions were used from 1926 onwards.
