Museums in New York City - a list to add to the wide range of collections in the city. (Some museums appear with different names to make the Wikipedia article easy to access.)
A section of 5th Avenue on the Upper East Side at the level of Central Park is also known as the Museum Mile because many well-known museums are based here. A Museum Mile Festival is held every year on the second Tuesday in June . The 5th Avenue will be closed to motor traffic.
