List of National Historic Landmarks in Arkansas

The list of National Historic Landmarks in Arkansas includes the objects designated by the federal government of the United States as National Historic Landmarks in that state . In Arkansas there are sixteen of these entries, an object, the USS Catering is indeed registered in Arkansas, but is currently in Oakland , California . There is also a National Military Park in Arkansas , which is also administered by the National Park Service .

Former National Historic Landmarks in Arkansas

1 USS HOGA (Tug) The sinking USS Nevada is pushed onto a flat sandy beach by the USS Hoga. June 30, 1989 North Little Rock Pulaski Tug that fought fires on ships in Pearl Harbor and was involved in pushing the sinking USS Nevada out of the fairway; the ship was stationed in the port of Oakland for many years and was transferred to the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum (AIMM) in 2005. It should have been relocated to North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 2007, but this move has been postponed due to unrecovered damage to the route from the effects of Hurricane Katrina and transportation costs. In November 2009 the ship was moored at Suisun Bay in California.

Arkansas Historic Areas under the administration of the National Park Service

National Historic Sites , National Historical Parks , National Monuments, and certain other areas in the National Park System are historic landmarks of national importance that are also highly protected, often since before the NHL program was introduced in 1960. These were not always per se declared an NHL. Arkansas has four such areas, the Arkansas Post National Memorial , Fort Smith National Historic Site (this is partially located in Oklahoma), and Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site are also NHLs and are included in the list above; remaining is:
