from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The list of state presidents of the Upper Austrian state parliament lists all state presidents of the Upper Austrian state parliament from 1861 onwards. According to Section 4 of the Landtag, the Landtag was initially headed by the governors appointed by the Kaiser. This tradition continued from 1918 to 1934. After the establishment of the State Parliament in 1934, this tradition was broken and the office of President of the State Parliament was introduced for the chairmanship of the State Parliament. Peter Mandorfer was elected President, Matthias Dallinger and Rudolf Freyer its Vice-Presidents. After Mandorf was appointed Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry in 1936, Vice President Feyer chaired the state parliament.
At the constituent session of the Landtag on December 13, 1945, Governor Heinrich Gleißner chaired the Landtag. Representatives Peter Mandorfer (ÖVP) and Franz Plasser (SPÖ) acted as deputies . From the following meeting, Peter Mandorfer appears in the minutes of the XVI. Legislative period as chairman, from October 14, 1947 he led the sessions as first president. The office of Third President of the State Parliament was introduced in 1954.
