The president and his three deputies were elected in the first session on December 6, 1932. Karl Litzmann (NSDAP) opened the Reichstag as senior president and handed over the chairmanship to the elected President Göring. After the deputy Otto Hugo (DVP) was initially declared elected by drawing lots in the election of the third vice-president , the recount of the result of the runoff election between the candidates Otto Hugo and Paul Löbe (SPD) resulted in a lead of one vote for the deputy Löbe. This accepted the election in the 2nd meeting on December 7, 1932.
