Overview map of Berlin-Schmargendorf

The list of streets and squares in Berlin-Schmargendorf describes the street system in the Berlin district of Schmargendorf with the corresponding historical references. At the same time, this complete list is part of the overall project Streets and Squares in Berlin .

overview

The federal highway 100 forms the border to Halensee and Wilmersdorf in the east . Part of the former Bundesautobahn 104 with the Wilmersdorf interchange is also located in Schmargendorf. The A 104 was downgraded to a branch of the A 100 and therefore no longer has its own number that identifies it as an independent federal motorway. The Berlin-Wilmersdorf power plant is located between the two motorways . Specifically include in the area of the district motorway lanes in Berliner Strasse system 1750 meters main, connecting road of the A 100, the connection track (990 meters) of A 100 to A 103, and 1540 meters of A 100 (Southwest roadways at junction Schoneberg and the AS Saarstraße ) to the large-scale road system (Category I). The main road system of Berlin includes the main carriageway of the A 100 between AS Schmargendorf and the Mecklenburgische Straße exit with 1690 meters, as well as 2200 meters of the entry and exit lanes of the A 100 and 580 meters of the A 103. The east entrance from the Mecklenburgische Straße at the AS Schmargendorf (A 100) is assigned to the local road system.

There are 78 dedicated streets and nine squares in the district. 18 streets of these continue in neighboring districts with the same name. The total length of these streets in the district is 39.5 kilometers. After the opening of the Schmargendorf ring railway station and the development in Grunewald , most of the Schmargendorf farmers sold their lands to the "trading company for real estate" of the banker Carl Fürstenberg (Franzensbader Strasse residential complex). It was not until after the First World War that large areas of farming were built on and the road system formed around the district between Grunewald , Halensee and Wilmersdorf , so many city streets cross the boundaries of the district. The main road system is also proportionally distributed in the streets. The Hohenzollerndamm runs centrally between Berlin's city center and, supplemented by Clayallee, to the southeast. In the district, these two streets with 2440 meters belong to the higher-level road connections . The north-south direction is complemented by the Mecklenburgische Strasse (with motorway connection) belonging to Wilmersdorf and the Hubertusallee / Teplitzer Strasse train in Grunewald. Of the cross-connecting main streets, Franzensbader , Berkaer (partially), Hundekehlestrasse and Breite and Warnemünder Strasse , the Rheinbabenallee with the lanes on Platz am Wilden Eber , as well as the section leading through the district and Paulsborner Strasse belong to the 3270 meters of the local road connections. The Forckenbeckstraße is added (4 category) in the Berlin network to complement road. Apart from the federal motorways, there are no federal highways in the district.

The development of the streets in the west of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district can be found in the district boundaries that intersect the streets. The Teplitzer and Hubertusstraße in Grunewald are on the Schmargendorfer border. In a clockwise direction, this is then excluding the beginning of Franzensbader and Reinertzstraße to the intersection at Auguste-Victoriastraße, which lies north in Grunewald and whose eastern properties belong to the district. The Paulsborner Straße is crossed and into the Schwarzbacher Straße over the Schwarzbacher Brücke the district boundary leads over the federal autobahn 100 and follows this to the southeast over the Paulsborner Brücke and the autobahn junction. Furthermore, including Falkensteiner Strasse and on the western edge of Mecklenburgischer and Soppoter Strasse, which belong to Wilmersdorf. The Lentzeallee in the district and the Platz am Wilden Eber on its south side, the border continues on the southern edge of Pücklerstrasse to Clayallee. From Clayallee on, Pücklerstraße is outside, on the edge of the forest and the sports area behind the western properties of Goldfinkweg, the border to Grunewald leads north and at Waldmeisterstraße (outside the Robert-Stolz-Anlage) east to Messelstraße over Clayallee. The district boundary to the north is now on the eastern property boundaries of Clayallee and Hohenzollerndamm and leads in the south and northeast from Roseneck to the property at the corner of Hohenzollerndamm / Teplitzerstraße. To the north, the border with Grunewald lies on the eastern edge of the Teplitzer Strasse.

Schmargendorf has 22,205 inhabitants (as of December 30, 2019) and includes the postcode areas 14193, 14195, 14197 and 14199.

By resolution of the Senate, the protection period for this sub-area has been extended to 2020.
