Butterfly path In contrast to the neighboring streets, the butterfly path was not named after a specific butterfly species. - At the request of the FDP- Flensburg, another street should be added to the named group of names. The application submitted by the FDP "RV-37/2014 1st amendment" stipulated in 2014 that a street in Weiche should be named "Goldener Scheckenfalter-Savanne". The reason was: “The golden piebald butterfly (Euphydryas aurinia) is a butterfly that, according to the press, has been lost to us for about 70 years. The Foundation for Nature Conservation Schleswig-Holstein has now ensured that this species of butterfly would feel at home again in Flensburg, if it still existed here. The city of Flensburg, whose wildlife benefits significantly from the effects of the development measures, should honor this commitment by naming a street. [...] In the garden city of Weiche , several streets have already been named after butterfly species, for example Kohlweißlingsweg or Bläulingsweg. Unfortunately, so far only streets have been named after butterfly species that actually occur in our region. With the naming after the golden piebald butterfly, a further prerequisite is created so that a possibly returning specimen of this previously lost species feels welcome here. The naming of streets according to terrain features is already common in the named area (e.g. Hagen, Furt). The "Savanne" part of the name honors the merits of those who took the action for having given the people of Flensburg the first savannah in this part of the world. ”The application was rejected, and the planned road was officially named“ Johannes-Mejer-Weg ”. Beautiful view
Udsigen (Bellevue)
The arched road on the Flensburg Fjord , which leads from Twedter Holz to Waldeshöh , was built in 1911/1912 by City Councilor Dr. Karding and the businessman Wilhelm Schaberg. At the same time, a summer house for the Schaberg merchant family was built. The half-timbered house in the style of a forester's house was built by master bricklayer H. Höft and initially received the Twedter Holz 91. Only later did the summer house receive the address Schöne Aussicht 49. The name for the area is to be taken literally. Some of the area offers a “beautiful view”. The family legend of the German-American family Markovits, who have been vacationing there for decades, got its name from the old grandmother of her family. The street was officially named on April 20, 1912. Two other old houses on Schöne Aussicht are also the Schöne Aussicht 23 (formerly Schöne Aussicht 19) built in 1929 and the Schöne Aussicht 29 villa from 1934/35. All of the first houses were built on a slope facing the fjord. In the 1980s, Solitüder Bogen was laid out parallel to the south of Schöne Aussicht (see below). Strongly developed new buildings were built on this street. Since then, the other side of Schöne Aussicht has also been built on. Today there are numerous estates of wealthy citizens at the Schöne Aussicht. The Schöne Aussicht street today has the shape of an unpaved avenue without a sidewalk . In 2009 a shell had to be demolished at the Schöne Aussicht as it was five meters too close to the edge of the forest. In 2012, another house owner who took the street name at its word, illegally felled thirty trees that belonged to the local conservation area on the banks of the Förde . Despite the designation as a beautiful view, the road is not characterized by a continuous view of the water, but by the trees there that strengthen the slope. Homeowners who claim a clear view of the sea there are therefore mistaken. Lage ,Mürwik(ZIP 24944)
