List of executions of juvenile offenders in the United States since 1976
This is a list of juvenile offenders who have been sentenced to death and executed by the United States since the reinstatement of the death penalty in 1976 , and who were under the age of majority at the time of their act. Since the reintroduction of the death penalty, 22 people have been executed for crimes committed as minors.
On March 1, 2005, the United States Supreme Court ruled that death sentences for criminals under the age of 18 were a cruel and unusual punishment under the 8th Amendment of the US Constitution and were therefore prohibited.
