Hole sniffers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A hole sniffer is a tool that can be used to find leaks in pressurized containers. For example, it is used by cyclists to detect punctures in a bicycle tube .

It is a small container in which there are small styrofoam balls. Normally these beads do not move, but when the hole sniffer is held over a defect in the hose, from which air escapes, the styrofoam beads are blown back and forth, thus making the user aware of the exact position of the defect.
