MEDIDA PRIX

The MEDIDA-PRIX was a media didactic university award, which was intended to promote the quality improvement in the production and use of digital media in the university sector. The competition was held annually between 1999 and 2009. The prize, donated by ministries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, was the highest endowed German-language media prize at 100,000 euros.

The competition was organized by the Gesellschaft für Medien in der Wissenschaft eV In an elaborate review process, eight to ten finalists were selected who presented themselves to the conference participants after being nominated at the GMW's annual conference. The selection criteria can be grouped into seven subject areas:

  • innovation
  • Medial added value
  • sustainability
  • Diversity
  • integration
  • Transferability
  • Quality management

A jury made up of specialists selected the winner (s) during the conference. The conference participants awarded an undoped audience award.
