history

In 1962 it was decided to found the MSC Taifun Mörsch, which experienced a steep rise with the first German championship in 1965. A new clubhouse was inaugurated as early as 1972, which was expanded and improved several times in the following years. The team's performance remained top-notch and MSC Taifun Mörsch was in every final from 1965 to 1974. In 1976, the team was able to play a final again, in which, however, they had to accept the greatest defeat. This was followed by a long dry spell.

In 1982 it was that time again and the typhoon was back at the final. You left the field as the German runner-up. In the following years you could fight for the German championship in an almost uninterrupted chain. In 2000, the MSC Taifun Mörsch went down in Motoball history as the "Millennium Champion", and since then the club's team has been able to qualify for the final every year. Parallel to the club's first team, the MSC Taifun Mörsch has a similarly successful junior team as a springboard, in which the young players aged 16 and over can demonstrate their skills.

In 2007 youth work began to take a new path. The acquisition of 80 cm 3 small motorcycles was realized and boys aged 13 and over were able to learn the interaction between motorbike and ball. In the first year of participation in the dmsj round, the youth team managed to achieve the title of runner-up. In addition to numerous international encounters, MSC Taifun Mörsch made 34 finals in the 45 years of the club. The club's team was able to win the German championship 19 times. Something unique in the history of motoball across Europe. The area at Keplerstrasse 101 was expanded into the Erwin Schöffel Stadium in 2003/2004. In addition to its sporting tasks, the MSC Taifun is also a recognized local club of the ADAC Nordbaden, which supports the motoball sport in its region in the most active way.

Stadion

The square of the Erwin-Schöffel-Stadium has been built according to the latest standards and has a computer-controlled irrigation system to keep the development of dust to a minimum. For safety reasons, the run-off zones around the two goal housings were enlarged to 10 m deep and 30 m wide and provided with a high ball catch fence. The spectator area of the entire facility was increased by 50 cm in addition to the grandstand, thus ensuring a better view. In the evening events, the play area is illuminated by a six-mast floodlight system with 24 kW output. A large, modern score display constantly provides information to the audience about the current time and the current score.

In the multifunctional tower on the grandstand side, there is a sales booth for drinks and food at the bottom and the speaker's booth at the top, from which information or music is broadcast during breaks. A special treat of the MSC Taifun Mörsch for its viewers is the live broadcast of the games in the club's own clubhouse.

The MSC Taifun Mörsch site was completely renovated in 2017. During the months of July and August, the site was re-asphalted. Nice drifts are also possible through a fine layer of sand or grit. The playing field is 85 to 110 m long and 45 to 75 m wide. In front of the gates there is a semicircular goal area with a radius of 5.75 m. The penalty area consists of a rectangle 16.45 m deep. An 11 meter point is marked in the penalty area. Each team has a paddock at their disposal that protects the teams from wind and weather.
