The Magirus-Deutz "Muni" is a fire service vehicle that was produced in just 6 pieces by the Ulm commercial vehicle manufacturer Magirus-Deutz .

History and Development

In 1957 the Magirus-Deutz "Muni" was manufactured as a fire engine . It has permanent all-wheel drive with compensation, off-road reduction that can be locked from the driver's seat (center differential) and an independently acting transverse differential. A trailer hook for carrying various fire service trailers, as required. The tires consist of Firestone 1100R20 16 PR U300 0160F with a tire pressure of 7.5 bar at the front and 7.0 bar at the rear. The braking system is based on pure air brakes, equipped with single-line, indirect trailer air brakes. The load capacity of the built-in DEMAK crane is 7 tons, two support rollers at the rear, another support can be mounted on the side The cable winch at the front has a maximum tensile force of 5.0 t secured by a scissor pin, a cable length of 60 meters and 100 meters on the additional roller. A maximum of 5.0 t can be pulled at the rear of the vehicle, secured by a slip clutch. the emergency generator delivers 3x 380 / 220V 20kVA. The light mast can be extended to 8.5 m above the terrain with three spotlights, each with 1000W / 220V fed by the emergency power generator. The Bern fire brigade used such a vehicle, which they then passed on to the Zug volunteer fire brigade. This vehicle is now in the Zuger depot technology history .
