Magic ring of Switzerland
The Magic Ring of Switzerland (MRS) is an association of professional and amateur magicians .
history
The Swiss magician Oscar Rey founded the Magic Ring of Switzerland, MRS for short, on January 29, 1939.
The special thing about the MRS lies in the fact that the association unites different cultures that define Switzerland.
The observance of political and cultural balance in every area of life has always been part of everyday life in Switzerland and is accordingly reflected in the association. So it wasn't easy for the club to really gain a foothold in the beginning. The problems of the Second World War made matters worse.
Since the 1960s, the MRS has been a member of the umbrella organization of the magicians' association FISM . The MRS has around 320 magicians (as of 2014).
The aim of the MRS is to promote the magical knowledge and skills of its members as well as to combat grievances in the art of magic.
The MRS organizes seminars, congresses and the Swiss championships for its members.
MRS has been the owner of the online lexicon Zauber-Pedia since May 2019 .
