Mahina is a small town and municipality in southwest Mali .
The city is located in Bafoulabé County in the Kayes region on the banks of the Bafing River, about 350 kilometers northwest of the capital Bamako . The municipality consists of 24 smaller villages, of which, besides Mahina, the largest are Diallola , Sékodounga and Niakalinssiraya . At the Mali census in 2009, the community had about 27,000 inhabitants. The Dakar – Niger railway line has a station in Mahina.
