Makis
Makis (singular: Maki ) is the name of a number of animals from the order of the primates , all of which were included in the now obsolete group of the semi-apes . However, it is not a systematic name.
Makis are called:
- the family of the common makis (Lemuridae), including the genera of the great makis ( Eulemur ) and the half lemurs or bamboo lemurs ( Hapalemur )
- the family of lemurs (Cheirogaleidae), which includes fat- tailed lemurs ( Cheirogaleus ) and mouse lemurs ( Microcebus ),
- the weasel lemurs ( Lepilemur ), which form the family of the same name (Lepilemuridae)
- the woolly lemurs ( Avahi ) from the family of the Indri-like
- the bear lemurs ( Arctocebus ), which belong to the Loris family
- as well as the Koboldmakis ( Tarsius ), which form the family of the same name (Tarsiidae).
