Mallorca Police

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mallorca-Policy or Mallorca-Clause describes a service of a motor vehicle liability insurance , private liability insurance or letter of protection insurance, which extends the coverage of a motor vehicle liability insurance that was taken out for a rental car abroad (subsidiary coverage).

Liability insurance is mandatory in other European countries, but the legally stipulated insurance sums are often well below the German level. The sum insured for personal injury in Turkey is 350,000 euros; in Germany, however, 7,500,000 euros. Only in exceptional cases, for example between German drivers (or persons resident in Germany), will the German damage law with the minimum amounts insured therein apply.
