Mansur Dao

Mansur Dao ( Arabic منصور ضو) is a Libyan politician. He was a close confidante of the overthrown Libyan ruler Muammar al-Gaddafi and accompanied him until his death. He was also the commander of the Revolutionary Guard .

Life

Dao had close ties with Gaddafi for more than thirty years. Since 1990 he has been his personal security chief. He was also the commander of the Revolutionary Guard.

According to his own statements, Dao was al-Gaddafi's personal companion during the civil war. He is said to have sat in the same car during the NATO attack. When al-Gaddafi died on October 20, 2011, Dao was injured and finally arrested by soldiers of the Libyan National Liberation Army and taken to a prison in Misrata .
