Marcus Nonius Gallus
Marcus Nonius Gallus was a Roman general of the 1st century BC. Chr.
He was the son of Gaius Nonius Gallus, for whom he had a tomb built in Aesernia , the home of the family. It is known that around 29 BC he BC the Gallic tribe of Treveri subjugated after a revolt. The short-lived Roman camp on Trier's Petrisberg seems to have been built under him . Probably due to its military operations in Gaul (where he was probably Legate of the governor), he became the Emperor proclaimed. Gallus was among other things a member of the septemviri Epulonum , a Roman college of priests.
