Marker (linguistics)

In modern linguistics is meant by a marker (of English. [To] mark 'label') is a means of expressing a grammatical meaning. Marker is a generic term for all kinds of affixes , e.g. B. -e in German days , as well as for morphological operations or processes such as substitution (replacement), z. B. o> e in yidd. tog 'day'> teg 'days'. The term marker is not directly related to the theory of markedness .
