Mauro Vila , full name Mauro Adrián Vila Wilkins , (born February 25, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.68-meter-tall offensive player Vila belonged to the youth teams of the Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting at least in 2003 . From 2005 he was part of the professional squad. In the 2008/09 season he scored six goals in the Primera División for the first division team Defensors between October 2008 and May 2009 . He was also used nine times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2009 . This was followed by a career station in Mexico at Querétaro FC by September 2009 at the latest . Up until his last appearance on January 31, 2010, he played 27 first division games and scored three goals. At least from July to October 2010 he played for Indios de Ciudad Juárez . The statistics show that he played nine games (no goal) in Primera A during this period. In the Clausura 2011 he hit the opposing goal in eight appearances in the top Uruguayan league for Defensor Sporting. In early August 2011 he joined the Club Almirante Brown , for which he ran once (no goal) in the Copa Argentina and nine times (no goal) in the Primera B Nacional . In early July 2012, he moved to Deportivo Quito . For the Ecuadorians, he played ten games (no goal) in Primera A and five games (one goal) in the 2012 Copa Sudamericana . From the beginning of 2013 he continued his career in Peru at UTC Cajamarca . He was used there 68 times (seven goals) in the Primera División , 14 times (no goal) in the Copa Inca and twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . At the beginning of February 2015, he switched to the Uruguayan first division club Rampla Juniors . In the 2015 Clausura he scored two goals in 13 league appearances, but could not prevent relegation with his team at the end of the season. Since the end of July 2015 he has been under contract with the second division side Boston River . In the 2015/16 season he contributed with seven goals in 19 second division appearances to the promotion of his club to the top Uruguayan league. There he played six league games in the 2016 season and scored one goal.

National team

Vila belonged to at least 2003 of coach Cristóbal Maldonado and Jorge Da Silva , respectively , of the Uruguayan U-17 selection , which took part in the U-17 South American Championship in Bolivia in 2003 and took 4th place. During the tournament he scored one goal.

He made his debut on September 27, 2006 in the 0-1 away defeat in the friendly against Venezuela under coach Óscar Tabarez in the Uruguayan senior team when he came on in the 63rd minute for Nicolás Vigneri . He booked another international match on October 18, 2006 in a 4-0 win against the same opponent.
