The Melbourne International Games Week is the largest professional communication and networking platform for games and consumers in the Asia-Pacific region. It comprises an amalgamation of events for the three areas of interest business, consumer goods and industry.

Games Week 2015 attracted over 60,000 people to game conferences and consumer shows across the city, including Games Connect Asia Pacific, Unite Melbourne, PAX Australia , Women in Games Lunch, Australian Game Developers' Awards, ACMI Family Day, VR and Serious Games Festival and Education in Games Summit.

2016 events took place in close proximity to a variety of venues, including the Australian Center for the Moving Image and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center. In 2017, more than 65,000 people took part in various events.

The 2018 program also includes numerous new events, including the first Melbourne Queer Games Festival, which focuses on games with LGBT content, as well as an esports conference, and the new High Score Conference, which brings together games and music has on the subject.
